A modest round of five games took place tonight (between Tuesday and Wednesday) in the NBA, with LeBron James in the spotlight - of course not.
King James took another giant step on the way to breaking Kareem Abdul Jabbar's points record, and along the way he also entered the top 5 in assists when he led the Lakers to victory at Madison Square Garden.
Milwaukee recorded a fifth consecutive victory, the Clippers returned to winning and at this time the leader of the West Denver meets New Orleans.

LeBron James continues to take giant steps closer to the all-time points record, but tonight he recorded another important milestone - when he overtook Mark Jackson and Steve Nash on his way to fourth place in the morale table The assists ever, topped only by natural point guards (John Stockton, Jason Kidd and Chris Paul).
LeBron has now become the only player in history who is in the top 5 of both the list of points and the number of assists, further evidence of his eternal greatness, and a new weapon that will be used by his supporters in arguments about the identity of the greatest player of all time.

James is now just 89 points away from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's record, which he held for 38 years.
The game was close in most phases, especially in the last quarter.
Jaylen Brunson tied the game with less than half a minute left in regulation, drawing a foul from LeBron and giving the Knicks a chance to win, but Julius Randle couldn't make a shot on the final drive and the teams went to overtime, where James had already taken control and closed things out with a basket In the penetration that secured the victory 19 seconds to the end.
Besides LeBron, the Lakers also got an excellent game from Anthony Davis who finished with 27 and 9 rebounds, and help from Russell Westbrook (17 and 8 assists).
Jaylen Brunson led the Knicks with 37 points.

The Bucks took revenge on the Hornets who inflicted a surprising defeat on them last month, and have already won five in a row.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, who appeared for the game after 50 points against New Orleans, continued his fantastic form and produced 34 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists, assisted by 18 points in 20 minutes from Khris Middleton, yet managed to defeat Charlotte only in the last quarter, after Lamelo Ball and Terry Rozier warmed up.

Kawhi Leonard, who has been in monster shape lately, did everything and finished with 33 points, 5 assists, 5 steals and two blocks, Norman Powell provided 27 points off the bench and Paul George recorded a quiet and solid game with 16, 10 rebounds and 7 assists.
Nikola Vucevic with 23 and 13 rebounds and DeMar DeRozan with 20 tried to keep the victory in the Windy City, but suffered a third loss in four games.

A victory of character for the Heat, who are only a game and a half behind the Cubs in the fight for fifth place in the Eastern Conference.
Darius Garland further cut Miami's lead to just two points with a 3-pointer with 7.3 seconds left, and Jimmy Butler's free throw gave the Cubs a chance to force overtime - but Donovan Mitchell's 3-pointer went wide.
Butler led the winner's scoring list with 23, Bam Adebayo added 18 and 11 rebounds, while Evan Mobley finished with 19 for Cleveland, and Donovan Mitchell was limited to only 16.
