At Insep, those affected by potential food poisoning are doing better

The storm calms down at Insep.

The National Institute of Sport, Expertise and Performance gave news of its athletes, a number of whom complained of vomiting, nausea and diarrhea from Wednesday afternoon.

The establishment quickly deployed health professionals from its medical center while the Regional Health Agency conducted the investigation.

"No serious cases have been diagnosed and the state of health of those affected has improved significantly in 24 hours," the institute said in a statement.

An inspection and samples were taken during the day of Thursday, February 2 in order to detect the cause of the poisoning.

The results of the analyzes will be known within 72 hours.

Still in the dark, the athletes do not yet know the origin of their worries.

The probable hypothesis of food poisoning had led Insep to put in place certain measures.

Messages are broadcast in the various centers to remind those present not to use tap water.

"Bottles are made available to athletes (on the facilities, in boarding schools) and agents," said the establishment.

Insep also had to adapt to feed athletes and employees: “The catering service will be operational again from this Friday, February 3, through meals delivered and not cooked on site.
