An unnecessary death in the USA. A 60-year-old man, who was involved this week in a "parental fight", which broke out during a basketball game at a middle school in Vermont, has passed away.
It was also announced that the police arrived at the scene of the incident following a report they received about a mass brawl, involving a large number of parents who had come to watch their children play basketball, as part of the meeting between Aalborg and St.
Albans (grades 7-8).
In the video taken on the field and also shared by NBC, the adults and several children are seen confronting each other when it is still unclear what exactly ignited the fight.
It should be noted that that fight ended before the police could even reach the school field, and many of the participants had already fled the scene, but 60-year-old Russell Giroux from Alburg remained on the spot, and needed medical attention, the police said.
The report shows that Giro was rushed to Northwestern Hospital, but his death was determined in the operating room, when it is still unclear what the exact cause of death is (this will only be determined after the post-mortem).

Jay Nichols, executive director of the Vermont Principals Association, issued a candid statement to the media: "We send our condolences to the family and are still shocked by the death of Giro as a result of physical injury during the melee.
Although we cannot speak specifically about the events in the game, we would like to emphasize that middle and high school sports are educational and are for the benefit of the students only.
Spectators who cannot behave properly - should not be at such an event!".
