Overview.

The event: The elite of world judo at the Accor Arena for the Paris Grand Slam

JUDO.

It is an unmissable event.

Like every beginning of February since 1971 (with the exception of the 2021 edition due to the health crisis and then the Tokyo Games), the best judokas in the world meet in Paris for the French Grand Slam.

Organized by the French Judo Federation, it is one of the four grand slam tournaments of the year.

But a year and a half before the Paris Olympic Games, this edition will have an even more special flavor.

In total, 550 fighters from 85 countries are expected on the Parisian tatamis this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, at the Accor Arena.

Among the main headliners are the cream of the judo world with many Olympic and world champions.

But the public will probably only have eyes for Teddy Riner who has been rare on the circuit lately due to a succession of injuries and who will be the attraction on Sunday.

Due to the large number of entries, the start of the competition, initially scheduled for 9 a.m., was finally brought forward to 8 a.m. by the organizers for the two days of competition.

The final phases take place from 5 p.m.

The Accor Arena will open its doors at 7:30 a.m. to welcome spectators.

The poster of the weekend: Tremblay for a revenge

At the same time, Massy (9th) welcomes Cherbourg (13th).

VOLLEYBALL.

It's the one we weren't expecting.

Last weekend, the players from Levallois, penultimate in the standings, created a sensation by beating (3-2) Le Cannet (5th), one of the emblematic clubs of women's volleyball, and French champion of moreover!

This success is the second of the season (in 17 days), after that obtained against France Avenir 2024, a team made up of young inexperienced players.

He revives the Levalloisiennes, which are still at the bottom of the ranking but have come within 6 points of Marcq-en-Baroeul... their opponent this Saturday at the Palais des Sports Marcel-Cerdan.

The evening not to be missed: boxing and chess... in the same ring

CHESSBOXING.

Last October, the IFC (Intellectual Fight Club) league returned to Cabaret Sauvage after a two-year hiatus for a great evening punctuated by four fights in front of 500 spectators.

Tim Arby of the chessboxing club of Paris won against Xhemshid Vogliqi for a title of champion of France.

This Friday, a new series of four fights will shake the walls of the room behind the Zénith de Paris.

The evening will begin with the first official fight of Andréas Honnet better known as Sardoche, one of the most followed French streamers (followed (1.3 million subscribers on Twitch, 700,000 on twitter, 350,000 on Youtube).

Two titles will be at stake: a title of champion of France in the Master Fight category (between 1800 and 2200 elo, the chess classification system) less than 85 kilos, opposing Valentin 'Chauffe' Marcel and Jules-Alois Julien, as well only a title of world champion in the Master Fight Heavyweight category for the Main Event of the evening, opposing the French Jamel 'Boumier' Hennous to the Italian Sergio 'The Phoenix' Leveque.

At the border of Trail and Orienteering, the Trail'O allows you to mix physical effort and orientation on the map.

O'Castor is an orienteering course that completes the range of nature raids.

It mainly focuses on orientation, running and sport hiking.

The objective is to follow a circuit materialized by posts, which the competitor must discover in an order defined by the itinerary of his choice, using a map and a compass.
