It seems that Kyrie Irving's tenure in Brooklyn is about to end in unpleasant circumstances: ESPN reporter Adrian Wojnarowski reported this evening (Friday) that the 30-year-old star asked the team leaders to trade him until the NBA window closes this Thursday.

Irving, who last summer exercised the option for a fourth season in Brooklyn and a salary of 37 million dollars, will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season and made it clear to the club management that he does not intend to sign a new contract with the Nets.

Even before this season, the coordinator asked to close a sign-and-trade deal, meaning signing a new contract and transferring him to another team, but the club refused and the star decided to stay.

This is another dramatic chapter in Irving's affair-strewn path in Brooklyn.

As you may remember, at the beginning of the season the coordinator was suspended for eight games after he uploaded a post on social media promoting an anti-Semitic book and movie.

Brooklyn is ranked fourth in the Eastern Conference as of this writing, with a record of 31 wins and 20 losses, but has lost seven of its 11 games since Kevin Durant injured his knee in early January.

The 30-year-old Kyrie averages 27.1 points, 5.3 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game.
