Luckily, Marek Haloda restored the old lead with a slap shot in the majority – 3:1 (19th).
The home side struggled in the second half, while the Ice Dogs got into the game better and better.
Keeper Martin Morczinietz saved his team several times before Jakob Heigl extended the lead to 4:1 after 27 minutes.
The ESC was visibly surprised that the Pegnitzers sought their salvation by fleeing forward in the final third.
Michael Breyer (45th) and Daniel Sonnenberg (50th) brought the guests to 3:4.
Coach Tauber took a break, but it had little effect.
However, the Geretsrieders also had three top chances in the final phase in order to be able to make their deserved victory clearer.
