Brooklyn announced this evening (Saturday) that Kyrie Irving will not dress for the game against Washington tonight due to "pain in the knee", pain that comes 24 hours after he demanded to be traded.
According to "Yahoo", the Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas and Phoenix are the leading candidates to add the disgruntled center, but "it is certainly possible that the Nets will keep Irving even after the closing of the trade window, trying to fight for a championship with him and Kevin Durant".
The Lakers, the Athletic claims, will not be willing to give up two first-round picks in the deal for Irving, and in any case will demand a rotation player from Brooklyn in return - perhaps Joe Harris.
Another problem for the Lakers - or any other team - is what to do in the summer, when the point guard will become a free agent and demand a maximum contract.
According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, "The Lakers are interested in Curry, but are not quite sure whether to make this deal, knowing they will have to pay him $200 million."
The city's other team, the Los Angeles Clippers, will likely stay out of this race.
In "Hopships" they claim that despite the personal relationship that several people in the club and Jason Kidd have with Irving, the chance that he will reach the Mavericks is not high.
In "Athletic" they even expressed concern about the possibility that the presence of the coordinator will have a negative effect on the development of Luka Doncic.
Miami was also mentioned, but Brooklyn would demand Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler or Tyler Hero in return, and it is doubtful that the Heat would agree to such an offer.

* Despite the rumors, Miami does not intend to transfer Kyle Lowry to the Lakers in exchange for Russell Westbrook.
* According to "Yahoo", Bojan Bogdanovic is expected to end the trade window in Detroit, which demands a very high price for him.
* Utah requires first-round picks on Mike Connelly, Malik Beasley and Jared Vanderbilt.
Philadelphia and Indiana are expressing interest in the latter.
