The Syrian national team player for billiards, Muhammad Al-Soufi, qualified for the semi-finals of the World Championship, which is currently being held in Poland.
This qualification came after Al-Sofi defeated the 4-time world champion and 14-time European champion, Albin Oschan, by 11-8, to qualify for the golden square in an achievement that no Arab player had ever before.
And Al-Sofi is the owner of the singles gold in the 9 ball in the West Asian Combined Billiards and Snooker Championship.
