Coach André Breitenreiter is said to be on leave at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
This is reported by »Bild« and »Kicker« in unison.
The decision was the result of the crisis talks on Sunday.
There was no comment from the Bundesliga soccer team early on Sunday evening.
Sports director Alexander Rosen and the management met in the morning.
Under the leadership of Breitenreiter, TSG has not won for ten competitive games.
Hoffenheim lost 5-2 at VfL Bochum on Saturday and are finally deep in the relegation battle.
TSG is only three points ahead of VfB Stuttgart, who currently holds the relegation place.
Committed as master
Breitenreiter came last summer as FC Zurich's master coach and successor to Sebastian Hoeneß, who had to go after a similar negative series.
That's one of the reasons why Rosen said to the coach discussion on Saturday: "It's too easy to just take one.
Maybe we need to ask bigger questions here."
Breitenreiter and his team were in fourth place in the table;
Hoffenheim lost sight of their original goal of participating in the Europa League.
