The Syrian national team player for billiards, Muhammad Al-Soufi, qualified for the final of the World Championship currently being held in Poland, after defeating the Chinese Wuqun Lin in the semi-finals, 11-6, in an unprecedented achievement for any Arab player.
Al-Sofi reached the semi-finals after eliminating the four-time world champion and fourteen-time European champion, Albin Uschan, by 11-8.
It is noteworthy that Al-Sofi is the owner of the singles gold in the 9 ball in the West Asian Combined Billiards and Snooker Championship.
