Syrian national team player for billiards, Muhammad Al-Sufi, won the silver medal in the World Championship, which was held in the Polish capital, Warsaw.
Al-Soufi presented a high technical level in all the matches he played, especially the final that brought him together with the Spanish player Francisco Sanchez, which he lost 10/13.
Al-Soufi was able to achieve an unprecedented achievement for any Arab player by qualifying for the final of the World Championships. In the quarter-finals, he won the 4-time world champion and 14-time European champion, Austrian Albin Usshan, with a score of 8/11, and in the Chinese semi-final, Wuqun Lin, with a score of 6/11.
It is noteworthy that Al-Sofi is the owner of the singles gold in the 9 ball in the West Asian Combined Billiards and Snooker Championship.
