Blessed:
Red Bull Leipzig player of the Bundesliga, Willy Urban, will miss the team's upcoming game against Union Berlin.
The reason?
A bone marrow donation that will save a stranger's life.
The 30-year-old Urban has played every minute of Leipzig's Bundesliga season so far, and has been a crucial part of their rise to fourth in the table after the change of coaches.
On Saturday, his team will play against one of the leaders in the table, but the Hungarian defender will miss the match due to surgery on Wednesday.
Urban registered as an optional bone marrow donor in 2017 when Leipzig launched a campaign on the subject.
A stem cell transplant replaces a patient's damaged blood cells with healthy blood cells from a donor, and it can be used to treat diseases such as leukemia and lymphoma.
