The TSV women destroy the Taufkirchen promotion dreams with their success.

It was an exciting game.

Wartenberg – In the well-filled Strogenhalle, the women's handball team from TSV Wartenberg cheered, at least among their own spectators.

They prevailed in the district class derby 23:20 (8:8) against TSV Taufkirchen and thus destroyed the promotion dreams of the guests.

Their coach Patrick Mühlenbeck then spoke of an extremely bitter bankruptcy: "Unfortunately, in the decisive phase we couldn't fend off the important balls, we didn't score the goals up front." In his opinion, the open game could have ended for both sides: " In the last ten minutes, however, the women from Wartenberg were more consistent on the pitch.”

In the first period, Taufkirchen initially led 4:2, especially Sophia Pregler and Theresa Pregler were again in good offensive mood in Wartenberg.

The latter also marked the interim 8:6 for the guests, but the last two goals of the first half belonged to the hosts.

With them, Andrea Angermaier worked through the middle and always found her neighbors.

However, the exploitation of chances showed room for improvement on both sides.

Wartenberg often hammered the ball against the post and crossbar, the guests repeatedly failed because of the strong TSV keeper Mayra Targosz.

Still, they seemed close to victory in the second period.

Wartenberg fabricated a few slight ball losses and Taufkirchen pulled away over a 14:12 to 17:14.

However, the drop in performance then followed.

Now the guests kept losing the ball and had big problems with Wartenberg's new 5-1 defense.

The hostesses dominated in the coming minutes and kept expanding their game.

Lisa Hausser equalized to 17:17, and after further goals by Deborah Vittoria Adelsberger and Julia Pfosser, Tanja Krraki made it 20:17 with a penalty.

The guests fought again, but Wartenberg threw everything on the defensive and was able to celebrate after the game.

Coach Hansi Huber was also extremely happy: "The team showed great morale and always believed in themselves despite being behind." The coach praised the entire defense for their aggressive performance and described goalkeeper Targosz as a great support, especially in the important phase.
