The Football Association in Turkey officially announced this evening (Tuesday) that a goalkeeper from Latiasspor from the country's second league was killed following the severe earthquake that hit the country on the night of Sunday and Monday.
28-year-old Ahmet Ayup Turkslan called his family in the first hours after the earthquake and told them he was fine, but today, after the search for missing people continued, he was found lifeless.

"For two days, our thoughts and prayers have been with this esteemed footballer," the statement of the Turkish association reads, "we hoped that he would be found safe and sound and return home, but unfortunately, we received the unfortunate news. We share in the grief of his family."
