One of the greatest records in the history of American sports was shattered: the Lakers star reached the 36 points he needed and overtook Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who had held first place since April 1984

The amazing career of LeBron James reached a new high tonight - literally - when one of the greatest athletes ever smashed one of the greatest records ever, becoming the NBA's all-time king of baskets.

The Los Angeles Lakers star reached the 36 points he needed, dethroning Kareem Abdul Jabbar from the top with his 38,387 points, and the game against Oklahoma City is still in progress.

LeBron started with a storm and finished the first half with 20 points, although he and his friends were unable to stop the Thunder and went to the locker room trailing 76:66.

In the third quarter he added two consecutive 3-pointers, continued to dominate every moment, and then, in the eyes of Karim who was watching the game from the floor area, he did it, 10.2 seconds to the end of the third quarter, with a jump from the penalty line area, in a backward jump that reminded a little of Michael Jordan , on the head of Kenrich Williams.

He did it!

King James came into the league as the first pick in the 2003 draft and was immediately crowned the next thing.

Few, however, predicted that he would be able to live up to the huge expectations and become such a dominant player, capable of excelling for so many years, and looking like one of the best players in the world even in his 20th season, at the age of 38.

LeBron spent his first seven seasons in Cleveland, before leaving it in favor of Miami in the summer of 2010. With the Heat he won his first two championships (2012, 2013), and after a fourth and final season in Florida, he returned home for a second term in Cleveland.

In 2016, he led the Cubs to a historic and unforgettable championship, and after completing four seasons in its ranks, he continued to his next chapter - perhaps the last chapter of his career, and signed with the Lakers.

In 2020 he won the fourth championship of his career, and now, along with an almost unprecedented streak of records, he also has one of the most coveted records of all.

Few believed that anyone would be able to surpass Kareem, who had held the record since April 5, 1984, and Barron did.
