Initial pessimistic forecasts suggested that Lloris could even miss the rest of the season
”, specifies the English newspaper, but Tottenham hope that the Frenchman will avoid surgery.
Lloris received treatment at the very end of the match against the defending champion, after an aerial duel with defensive midfielder Rodri.
A scan revealed that the ligaments were affected, according to the English daily.
It's a blow for Antonio Conte's team, currently 5th in the Premier League and fighting for a Champions League qualification next season.
Lloris will also miss the double confrontation with AC Milan in the round of 16 of the C1.
If he has not always been flawless this season, Hugo Lloris is also likely to miss as captain of Spurs, where he has been playing for more than 10 years.
World champion in 2018, he announced in early January that he was retiring from international duty after 145 blue caps - a record -, including 121 as captain, after the World Cup final lost against Argentina in Qatar.
