The Executive Office of the General Sports Federation continues its vigorous follow-up in providing all necessary facilities, stadiums, halls and sports cities that opened their doors to receive families affected by the earthquake that hit Syria last Monday.

Vice President of the General Sports Federation, Omar Al-Aroub, explained to SANA that since the occurrence of the great calamity, the federation has launched initiatives through its cadres, “game federations, executive committees, clubs, fan associations, and volunteer athletes,” to help our people affected by the earthquake that struck a number of Syrian governorates, and caused great losses in the country. Lives and property.

Al-Aroub stressed that the athletes' initiatives of all kinds, whether material or in-kind, are a national, human and moral duty to overcome this ordeal, pointing out that these initiatives sent a strong message to the international community to lift the unjust siege on our dear homeland, Syria.

The Vice President of the Sports Federation indicated that the federation opened the doors of its facilities, cities, stadiums and gyms to the affected families according to the emergency action plan, and directed its cadres of different health, engineering, educational and economic professions to do everything that contributes to mitigating the effects of the earthquake on the affected citizens.

Al-Aroub added: All the executive committees in the governorates, through the administrations of their sports clubs, technical committees, players, and fans’ associations, have devoted their efforts through the administrative units to help those affected through blood donation campaigns, running buses full of aid, and financial donations from club and national team players.

The Executive Office of the General Sports Federation formed a central committee to follow up on all initiatives in all governorates, through executives and clubs, and to find out their details to facilitate all procedures and overcome any difficulties facing sports cadres in their tasks separately.
