After a sovereign victory against MTV Ingolstadt 2, they had to admit defeat to their direct competitor from Pförring.
TSV Wartenberg – MTV Ingolstadt II 3: 1 (25:15, 25:15, 24:26, 25:21) – In the Strogenhalle, the Wartenberg women needed a bit of a start.
The experienced players from Ingolstadt repeatedly hit the gaps in the TSV defence.
But then Wartenberg pulled away with a safe series of serves from Susanne Scholz.
From then on, TSV kept the upper hand until the third set.
After a 23:20 lead, the Schanzer fought back with a powerful service series.
Coach Stefan Huber's team didn't let that deter them.
Concentrated, they demanded that the MTV defense be ready to run and were able to celebrate a well-deserved victory.
TSV Wartenberg – TSV Pförring, 0: 3 (14:25, 13:25, 14:25) – TSV was literally overrun at the beginning.
With powerful and well-placed balls, the guests gained a lead early on that the Wartenberg team couldn't catch up on.
The opposing block too often prevented TSV from being able to finish its attacks consistently and powerfully.
The hostesses were also unable to play to their strength in the serve.
Instead, uncertainties in their own assumptions caused problems in the structure of the game in Wartenberg.
Actions were worth seeing, but they weren't enough to catch up against the determined gatekeepers.
With the outcome of the game, it remains tight at the top of the district class.
Although Wartenberg is leaving a game empty-handed for the first time this season, TSV still has the fight for promotion in its own hands.
