The new apparatus gymnastics season kicked off today (Friday) with the Union Cup, held in the "Berlin" hall at the Wingate Institute, with a big surprise.
The Olympic champion Artyom Dolgupiat managed to score a total score of 79.3 points, and ranked only second in the wrestling competition, when in his strong ground exercise he stumbled on the first bar, but in the following apparatuses he looked much better.
It is important to note that Dolgopiat is still trying a new exercise for the coming season, when his main goal this year will be the European Championship in 60 days in Turkey and in the summer, the World Championship in Belgium, when in two weeks the first World Cup of the season will be held in Germany.
The one who got the best result is Uri Seidel, who got 79.4 points.
In third place, Ilya Liubimov took the podium with 77.9.
Eliran Yuskovich, who also competed in the multi-combat, finished fourth with 75.150 points.
In the youth category, Dima Dutsenko (74.6) won the battle, second place was Noam Berkovic (72.6) and third was Ron Ortel (70.1).
