Tops / flops Lorient-Lens: The RCL finds (in part) its game, Dieng and Faivre disappoint ...

2023-02-10T06:08:55.858Z

The Lensois game back, Le Fee and Doucouré believed in it, Dieng and Faivre too absent and a management that could have been expensive.... Find the tops and flops of Lens' qualification at Lorient (1-1, 2 -4 tabs).

TOPS

A Lens (partially) found

Victory is at the end and that's the main thing for Lens.

But this match surely reassured Franck Haise and his family a little.

In recent weeks, the intensity and rhythm "made in RC Lens" were not so present.

So the Sang & Or supporters had to find a smile on their team's first period.

Very active in pressing and recovery, they got plenty of chances in the first period with no less than 12 shots including 4 on target.

Despite a significant turnover of staff (Fofana, Medina and Sotoca on the bench), the Lensois have regained their football.

It's up to them to find him in Ligue 1 now, and throughout the match (see below).

Yongwa and Cathline tried...

If Lorient only opened their counter in the 84th minute, it's not because they haven't tried before.

The left side of Les Merlus was very lively, especially in the first period.

Darline Yongwa, the left side could even have been awarded a penalty twice but the referee decided otherwise, probably penalizing him for his simulation on the first situation (18 'and 42').

A little less visible in the second period, they played the entire meeting by animating much more than the right side of Lorient.

Doucouré changed everything and Le Fée concluded

The entry of Sirine Doucouré woke up a whole team and a whole stadium.

Half-asleep by an uninspired Lorient attack, fans at the Moustoir stadium had to wait until the 68th minute to see a player really wet his shirt.

Well helped by his size and his physique (1m93), the young 20-year-old striker was very present in the duels and weighed on the Lensoise defense.

It was he who got the free kick for the equalizer in the 84th minute and he also converted his penalty.

Enzo Le Fée, sent him his shot on the bar but how can you blame him?

It was he who equalized with an excellent free kick synonymous with hope for Lorient, after a rather successful match.

Too bad to end his performance like this.

FLOPS

Dieng is not yet a hake

Arriving at the end of the transfer window in Brittany and lacking rhythm on the OM side (only 10 games), Bamba Dieng does not yet seem 100%.

If he gave a glimpse of his displeasure, it's because he had a hard time existing tonight.

Served several times in the area, he did not find much of a shooting position and when he did, he missed the target (40 ').

Little inspired and little served (19 balls hit) he at least had the merit of framing a shot just before going out in the 68th minute.

Romain Faivre too discreet

The return to Breton soil does not seem, for the moment, to restore confidence to Romain Faivre.

Unlike Yoahn Cathline, his counterpart on the left side, we saw very little of the former Lyonnais.

Tonight, on the few balls he touched (32) he was unable to create danger or improve his balls.

It will probably take time for him to regain confidence and his level.

Lorient will need him for this end of the season.

Lensoise management that could have been expensive

Upon returning from the locker room, Lens had apparently lost all desire to attack.

With only 4 strikes and too daring gestures, like Fofana's roulette in his area (78 '), the Lensois let the Lorientais come back into the game.

They are doing well despite everything with the qualification at the end but they were scared.

Not to be repeated in the next round against the defending champions, FC Nantes.
