For the basketball players of TSV Jahn Freising only one win counts on Saturday at TSV München-Ost.

Coach Stojanovski is already looking forward to next season.

Freising

– Even if the basketball players of TSV Jahn Freising probably no longer have a chance of promotion to the 2nd regional league, their greed for further victories is unbroken.

"Of course we want to celebrate our next success on Saturday evening at TSV München-Ost and consolidate third place in the table," says Jahn coach Oliver Stojanovski.

Start is at 8 p.m.

Before the start of the season in the Bayernliga Südwest, nobody had the young and newly formed Jahn squad on their radar.

When the Freisingers sent the then favored TSV München-Ost home after a strong performance with 67:62 in the first home game, the competition was amazed.

Since then, people have gotten used to the victories of TSV Jahn - it even seemed possible to win the championship.

However, the defeats against second-placed Bayern Munich IV and the outstanding and still undefeated MTV Munich shattered this dream.

Coach calls for more communication on the defensive

Nevertheless, one could think that Stojanovski is completely happy with his team's performance.

"In principle yes," judges the coach.

On the offensive, the development of his team is already well advanced and the hit rate is quite decent.

"But I'm not satisfied with the defense at the moment." Great progress has been made with defensive rebound - but overall there is a lack of coordination.

"Defensive work without the ball doesn't work the way I'd like it to.

Above all, there is not enough communication, so the opponents keep scoring easy goals.”

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Since Freisinger were without a game last weekend, Stojanovski used the time to work on the defensive.

Preparations for the next season have already begun for him, in which his team will then strive with all their might to advance to the 2nd regional league.

TSV Jahn Freising comes into play as a favourite

For the coach, preparation also means that his team should win as many games as possible in the current round – including at TSV München-Ost.

"We've certainly gotten stronger since the first leg," Stojanovski states, "but so have our opponents." The hosts are currently seventh with five wins from twelve games.

Therefore, the Freisinger have to live with the role of favorites.

"But we shouldn't underestimate them.

We certainly won't have decided the game after the first or second quarter," says the coach, who demands full concentration for 40 minutes.
