Joao Felix opened the scoring shortly after the quarter hour mark but Emerson equalized before the half hour mark. With a third draw in a row, at West Ham (1-1), after leading the score on Saturday for the 23rd day of the Premier League, Chelsea sees inexorably moving away its chances of playing in the Champions League next year.
This 31st point taken in 22 matches leaves the Blues in 9th provisional place and especially nine lengths from Newcastle, 4th and last virtual qualifier for the C1.
West Ham, who had already picked up a point against the Magpies (1-1) last Saturday, climbs to 15th place with 20 points, just two points above the red zone.
