Johannes Thingnes Bø's Oberhof Festival has found a golden sequel.

The 29-year-old Norwegian was also unbeatable in the pursuit over 12.5 kilometers and clinched his third World Championship triumph in the third race.

For the outstanding Bø it was already the 15th world championship gold medal.

As the best biathlete in the German Ski Association, Johannes Kühn finished sixth with three penalties (+2:27.1 minutes).

He missed out on a podium at the last standing stage when he missed twice.

Roman Rees (2/+3:04.5) was tenth, Justus Strelow (1/+3:10.5) was eleventh.

Benedikt Doll, who started the race 55th, made up 40 places and after two shooting errors (+3:23.8) he still finished 15th.

High-flyer Bø won after a flawless shooting performance with a remarkable 1:11.2 minutes ahead of his teammate Sturla Holm Lägreid (0) and Sebastian Samuelsson from Sweden (2/+1:54.1).

The Swede thus prevented something historic: After their triple triumph in the sprint, the Norwegians could have secured two triple victories in a row with another march through as the first in biathlon history.

Tarjei Bø, third in the sprint, had to admit defeat to Samuelsson in the final sprint.

The men continue on Tuesday with the individual race over 20 kilometers.
