Paris St. Germain can hope for their superstars Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé in the round of 16 of the Champions League against Bayern Munich.
Both players took part in the French champions' final training session and are in the 22-man squad for the first leg in the premier class on Tuesday (9 p.m. / Amazon Prime Video) in Paris's Prinzenpark.
Messi should be in the starting XI.
It remains to be seen whether Mbappé was only nominated for the matchday squad as a precaution, will actually be on the bench or will play from the start.
"We take zero, zero, zero risk with Kylian," said PSG coach Christophe Galtier after the failed dress rehearsal at AS Monaco (1: 3).
Galtier gave an update on Monday afternoon: “He trained individually yesterday.
It was a very positive training session," he said, adding, "We'll judge him tomorrow morning when we meet."
If Mbappé actually gets fit in time, Paris could have the top line-up in attack.
Strike partner Neymar is also hoping for Mbappé and Messi to play against Bayern.
"When we play as a threesome, we feel stronger," said the Brazilian.
Mbappé sustained a left thigh injury during a league match in Montpellier on February 1.
His downtime was estimated by the club at three weeks.
At Messi, PSG had confirmed a tendon injury in the 35-year-old's knee last week.
Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann had already suspected a poker game by the top French club because of World Cup top scorer Mbappé.
"I don't think he'll be out," Nagelsmann had said.
