Being closer to the red line than to the fourth place that leads to the Champions League, the disappointing Liverpool hosts Everton tonight (Monday) for the depressed derby.
The Toffees stunned leaders Arsenal 1-0 in Sean Dyche's debut in the previous round, but are still below the red line and desperate for points.
Jurgen Klopp's team is in 10th place, after the 3:0 defeat against Wolves and four games without a win, although a win would put them nine points clear of fourth-placed Newcastle (and with a game in hand).
Diego Jota, who made only four appearances this season in the league, returned to Klopp's squad after a long injury along with Virgil van Dijk and Roberto Firmino, while Fabinho returned from illness straight to the lineup.
Thiago Alcantara is still disabled.
Everton, who won only one derby in the last 27 meetings in all formats (0:2 at Anfield about two years ago) is still missing Dominic Calvert-Lewin and in addition, Ellis Sims who returned from the loan at Sunderland was placed.
