Johannes Thingnes Bø is simply unbeatable at the Biathlon World Championships: Despite two shooting errors, the Norwegian also won the individual competition in Oberhof - and thus his fourth gold medal in the fourth start.
This means that the now 16-time world champion still has the chance to be the first in his sport to win seven gold medals at a World Championship.
Second was his team-mate Sturla Holm Lægreid (1 error/+ 1:10.7 minutes), while Sebastian Samuelsson (1/+ 1:11.1 minutes/ Sweden) came in third.
Beijing 2022 individual Olympic champion Quentin Fillon Maillet had to settle for fourth place.
The German men are still waiting for a medal at their home World Cup.
Benedikt Doll finished fifth with one penalty as the best of the team, after 20 kilometers he was 2:09.6 minutes behind the leader.
Philipp Nawrath surprisingly made it into the top ten at his first World Championship start in ninth place.
Roman Rees did not finish higher than 21st place.
David Zobel disappointed in 73rd place.
The World Championships continue on Wednesday with the women's singles (2.30 p.m. / ARD and Eurosport).
On Thursday (3:10 p.m.) the men will be back in action in the single mixed relay.
