The Syrian Olympic Committee received condolence telegrams from the Olympic committees and international federations, in solidarity with Syria and its athletes, as a result of the devastating earthquake that struck Syria on the sixth of this month.
The heads of the Olympic Committees, headed by the President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, in addition to the heads of the international federations, expressed their sincere condolences and sincere sympathy to Syria and its athletes for the victims of the earthquake, stressing their standing by the Syrian people in these harsh conditions, and their willingness to extend a helping hand and assistance in every effort that would alleviate The intensity and effects of this painful tragedy.
In turn, the head of the Syrian Olympic Committee, Firas Mualla, thanked the Olympic committees and international federations for their humanitarian gesture and solidarity with the Syrian people in their great affliction and the great ordeal that befell them.
