She is not allowed to take part in the Biathlon World Championships in Oberhof - nevertheless, Hanna Sola from Belarus is currently having a good time.

Oberhof - The Biathlon World Championships are in full swing!

From a German point of view, things are going well, currently (as of February 14, 10 a.m.) the DSV team is in second place behind Norway in the medal table.

Denise Herrmann-Wick played a key role in the black, red and gold success in Oberhof.

She won one gold and one silver.

One of her former competitors, on the other hand, has to watch the World Cup from afar: Hanna Sola.

Hanna Sola became a mother in December 2022

The Belarusian has not been allowed to take part in international biathlon competitions since March 2022, a month after the start of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine.

This also affects their compatriots and all Russians.

Accordingly, only the spectator role remains at the World Cup.

So Hanna Sola has been on a forced break for almost a year.

Nevertheless, she has a busy schedule, after all, the 26-year-old became a mother just before Christmas.

The father of the daughter is the Belarusian cyclist Stanislau Baschkou, the happy couple has been married since the summer of 2021.

There are 13 months between these pictures: Hanna Sola in January 2022 at the Biathlon World Cup in Ruhpolding and in February 2023 on a family vacation in Sochi.

So while the biathlon elite are currently chasing medals, Sola is enjoying time with her family.

She recently walked through the Olympic Park in Sochi with her husband, child and friends - in a good mood and equipped with a cell phone camera.

While Baschkou dances to a Michael Jackson song playing in the background, Sola films the illuminated Black Sea terrain.

Sochi hosted the 2014 Winter Olympics and 2018 World Cup matches.

The large area is still an attraction today.

The fans are happy about the happiness of the young family, but of course they would also like to see Hanna Sola in action at the World Cup.

When will Hanna Sola be allowed to compete in biathlon again?

It is currently unclear when the top athletes from Russia and Belarus will be allowed to intervene again.

The basic prerequisite would probably be an end to the war.

Efforts have recently been made to have them participate again in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris - for the two Ukrainian climbers Margarita and Ksenia Zakharova that would be a "shock".

Sola is currently not the only biathlete to have babies: Justine Braisaz-Bouchet and Franziska Hildebrand also recently gave birth to offspring.
