Iranian-American billionaire Jaham Najafi plans to make a bid for Tottenham.
According to various reports in the UK, the owner and deputy of the Phoenix Suns of the NBA along with a consortium of investors, are planning to submit a bid of 3.75 billion dollars for the club.
Najafi's company, MSP Sports Capital, is said to hold 70% of the ownership while other investors, mainly from Abu Dhabi, will provide the balance.
According to Sportsmail, the offer is expected to fall short of current owner Joe Lewis' valuation of the club, which he said was in excess of €4.5 billion.
This figure is significantly higher than Najafi's proposed offer.
If the deal does go through, Najafi is expected to invest heavily in the team in an attempt to take Spurs one step further and fight for titles.
The north London club won their last title in the 2008/09 season when they won the League Cup.
The financial rewards and business growth prospects of the Premier League are a major attraction for foreign investors at the moment.
Rich businessmen want a piece of the Premier League pie with Newcastle, Chelsea and Bournemouth being recent evidence of this.

Spurs fans will be happy to hear about the offer.
During the last few years, they were furious about the conduct of the club.
On several occasions they expressed frustration and dissatisfaction with the owner, the board and the chairman Daniel Levy.
