Schmeichel the Danish wall
In difficulty at the start of the season, Kasper Schmeichel is now another man, another goalkeeper.
The Danish goalkeeper has returned to a very high level for a few games and he showed it again during Nice's draw against Reims (0-0).
The former Leicester player notably saved his team by stopping Balogun's penalty (55th, 0-0) before making an absolutely masterful save against Ito by deploying full length, even if the Japanese was offside ( 73rd, 0-0).
Abdelhamid and Dante as patterns
The indestructible Yunis Abdelhamid and Dante.
There was age today in central defense between the Brazilian (39 years old) and the Moroccan on the other side (35 years old).
Both captains performed well in their areas.
Always well placed, the two players are also very intelligent.
Dante showed it well on his fault obtained through experience when Balogun was launched deep (74th, 0-0).
Dante and Abdelhamid are like good wine: they get better with age.
FLOPS
Moffi (still) shy
Three games for Moffi, three tricky performances.
The striker only shot once on goal, from the start of the match (4th), when it was certainly not the best option.
Beyond his lack of weight offensively, the Nigerian seems lost on the pitch.
In Lorient, Moffi distinguished himself by his direct game and a first touch often forward.
In Nice, it's the opposite.
The Rémoise attack in difficulty
Both teams had their period, but Reims seemed more listless offensively.
Balogun missed his penalty, and that's it.
Maolida, Flips, Ito and Balogun were very discreet tonight.
Nice did not score, the fault of a lack of efficiency - which is not glorious either - but at least got clear opportunities, especially in the first period.
