Baptiste Serin releases the RCT

A boss match for the RCT scrum half.

Author of a trickster try at the end of the match after taking advantage of a devastating ball carried by his forwards to fake a pass and flatten five meters further, Baptiste Serin sealed the success of his team, in a crazy atmosphere at the Vélodrome.

Previously, the number 9 of the RCT had distinguished himself by causing the yellow card of Emmanuel Meafou (see below) and by several well-chosen choices, by quickly playing his penalties.

Comfortable in his game at the foot of occupation, he also raised his voice to remobilize his partners after the exclusion of Sergio Parisse.

A true leader.

Toulon gets back into the race for the Top 6

This shock at the top of the 18th day of Top 14 looks like a turning point in the Var season.

Solidarity in defense despite nearly 40 minutes outnumbered, the Toulonnais managed to afford the scalp of the Toulouse leader, who displayed, despite the double period, a competitive starting XV with the presence of internationals François Cros, Melvyn Jaminet or again Mathis Lebel.

This 4-point success allows the RCT to move back to 7th place (43 points), just two points behind Aviron Bayonnais, the last provisional qualifier for the finals.

François Cros back in the foreground

Author of 70 high-flying minutes, François Cros has found the rhythm with the qualities that we know him.

Aggressive and faultless on his tackles, the Toulouse third line was a constant poison for the Toulonnais in the ruck areas.

This bodes well for the XV of France by the end of the Tournament, in which the international aspires to regain a starting place despite stiff competition from his teammate Anthony Jelonch and Charles Ollivon.

FLOPS

A rain of boxes falls on the Vélodrome

Despite all his experience, the eternal Sergio Parisse (39) left his team outnumbered in the 32nd minute after a reversal tackle on Pierre-Louis Barassi, who landed on his head.

A logical red card that brought tears to the face of the Var captain a few moments later in the locker room at the Vélodrome stadium.

With this excess of aggressiveness, the Rugby Club Toulonnais received its first red this season.

But this shock at the top did not stop there with three cards distributed in the second act.

Guilty of a tackle at the level of the blow of Baptiste Serin (51st), Emmanuel Meafou left his people in numerical inferiority for 10 minutes.

At the end of the game, Rynhardt Elstad and Jiuta Wainiqolo clung (72nd).

The first got a

a red card for a hand in the face of the Toulon winger, who was sent off for 10 minutes for provoking it.

If the referee is certainly always right, Pierre Baptiste Nuchy seemed to show great leniency in the confrontation zones, leading to the nervousness that we know at the end of the match.

The guilty offensive clumsiness of Toulouse

After the red card received by Sergio Parisse, Stade Toulousain logically took the lead and put the Toulonnais under pressure in their camp for long sequences.

But faulty hands, too slow supports or bad choices have constantly annihilated the intentions of the Stadistes, who will therefore never have managed to cross the Var goal line.

After the siren, Arthur Retière thought he had succeeded but a disaster return from Jules Danglot made him put one foot in touch.

A zero point despite nearly 40 minutes in numerical superiority over the whole meeting.

The Red and Black's conquest in touch failing

Seven balls lost in touch.

The finding is overwhelming for hookers Teddy Baubigny and Anthony Etrillard and their jumpers.

This crying evil has persisted among the men of Pierre Mignoni and Franck Azéma since the start of the season.

The Toulon front eight also proved imprecise on several balls carried with two scrums returned to their opponents on their interlocks.
