The footballer from Manchester City and the Argentina national team is a childhood friend of the National League player, Valentin Metalis, the team's new acquisition: "He was enthusiastic about the shirt and wished me the best of luck in Israel"

What is the connection between the Hapoel Nof HaGalil football club and the Manchester City footballer and the Argentina national team Julian Albers?

It turns out that the senior footballer is a childhood friend of the Hapoel Nof HaGalil footballer, Valentin Metalis, the team's new acquisition, who arrived in the January transfer window and managed to get his first playing minutes against Hapoel Afula and Kfar Kasem.

Both grew up in the youth department of River Plate, and between the two there is an old custom, the one who signs for the team makes sure to send his friend a team from the club he signed for.

In January 2022, Albers signed a contract for five and a half seasons at Manchester City from the Premier League and made sure to send his friend from the youth department of River Plate the City shirt, now it's Metalis' turn to give back.

His brother Francesco went to London last week to watch between Arsenal and Manchester City and he made sure to send a shirt of his from the Galilee with him.

"He really fell in love with the shirt, said it was very beautiful and wished me success in the rest of my career," Valentin explains.

"We have been friends since the time we played together in the youth of River Plate. We talk like Matt every day. He invited me to the World Cup in Qatar as his personal guest. He is a good guy, a good friend and has a heart of gold."

Valentin added: "It is true that there is a huge difference between Manchester City and Hapoel Nof HaGilil, but I have no doubt that in the future I will play in a much higher league. I am aiming for the Premier League or the Spanish League, two leagues that I like and that is where I am aiming. Hapoel Nof HaGilil will be a springboard for me to the leagues these".

He says about speaking in Israel: "Nof HaGalil is a small and quiet city, I live right next to the field and it's good for me, I'm very comfortable, my brother visited me, now I'm alone and concentrate only on football. My team is not in a good position in the table, I hope to help them stay in the league And also to demonstrate my ability. I'm optimistic, the last victory over Kfar Qasim gave us a lot of air."
