Arsenal managed to recover yesterday (Saturday) after the loss in the game of the season to Manchester City.
The Gunners looked on the way to losing a fourth point in a row, but managed to turn a 2:1 deficit into a dramatic 2:4 victory over Aston Villa in extra time with goals from Emiliano Martins (own) and Gabriel Martinelli.
Following Manchester City's 1:1 draw at Nottingham Forest, Arsenal managed to re-increase the gap from the champions to two points, with a game in hand.
It was the first victory for Mikel Arteta's men away from London from behind since December 2009, when they managed to turn Liverpool's 1-0 deficit into 2-1.

Summary of Arsenal's victory 2:4 over Aston Villa (Sport 1)
Aston Villa's goalkeeper, world world Emiliano Martinez, "starred" in Arsenal's last two goals in extra time.
In the first the ball bounced off the crossbar, hit the goalkeeper and went in in an unlucky move.
The second goal was after he went into Arsenal's box with a corner kick in an attempt to save his team, but allowed the opponent to score an easy goal against an empty net.
Aston Villa coach Unai Emery criticized: "I never tell my goalkeeper to go up to the box and try to score in the 92nd minute. Maybe in 1 out of 100 cases it leads to a goal, but most likely it will go against you. You have to be smart. You can lose, But not like that."

The Arsenal coach was interviewed by Niv Doberat at the end and expressed satisfaction with his players' return to the game: "I think we managed to score mainly because we played great in the second half. We deserved to win this game and I'm very happy. It was a tough game, it was hard for us to lose the game against City. Psychologically, it's not easy when you fall behind twice from their two kicks. It takes a lot of concentration to come back like that. Against Brentford we didn't manage to score even though we were good, against City we deserved it but we didn't. Everything is open and possible in a championship race. We have to be humble and not get confused."

In the next round (25.2) Arsenal will host Leicester and try to increase the gap at the top from Manchester City.
