VfB Hallbergmoos vs. Türkgücü Munich "at eye level at times"

The footballers from VfB Hallbergmoos presented themselves in good shape in the friendly against Türkgücü Munich.

– Two test games fell flat for the VfB Hallbergmoos footballers – once because of Corona and once because of fog.

These minor turbulences didn't really throw the Bavarian league team off course: In the very respectable 0:2 (0:1) home defeat in the preparatory kick against the regional league club Türkgücü Munich, the team showed itself to be in absolutely good condition for the Bavarian league.

"We simply trained more during the week without a friendly," says VfB coach Florian Brachtel.

In addition to the four long-term injuries (Julian Kersting, Moritz Mühlrath, Felix Breuer and Aldin Bajramovic), there was also the young attacker Karim Howlader, who broke his hand in training.

Against the regional league club Türkgücü Munich, the Hallbergers had to learn again that on the fringes of professional football they acted much more consistently and mercilessly.

As in the 2-4 win against SV Wacker Burghausen at the end of January, the opponent's first shot on target brought the 0-1 through Yannick Woudstra (14th).

VfB was defensive but basically compact.

Only two goals against the ex-third division show that the team is on the right track.

The second made Ünal Tosun (60th).

But Brachtel's defense isn't enough even in friendlies against higher-class teams.

"At times we played on an equal footing," he said with satisfaction.

Against the opponent, who arrived with a full band, the penalty area was always the end of the line.

Türkgücü Munich already starts in the league next weekend, so the game in Hallbergmoos was the dress rehearsal.

For the Hallbergers, the seriousness of the Bavarian league only begins on Friday, March 3, with the home action against TSV 1860 Munich II.
