Romelu Lukaku is having trouble showing the ability from his first and successful term at San Siro this season, but tonight (Wednesday) he proved exactly why Inter sent him back this summer on loan from Chelsea.
The Belgian striker, who joined as a substitute, gave the Milanese a valuable 0:1 in the round of 16 of the Champions League against Porto, perhaps on the way to the first quarter-finals after 12 years.
The Belgian, who also scored in the last round of the league, made way for Edin Dzeko in the lineup, but after the Bosnian did not affect what was happening on the field, Simona Inzaghi pulled the Belgian off the bench.
Both teams fought hard and wrested great saves from goalkeepers Andre Onana and Diego Costa, but the turning point came in the 78th minute.
Otabio, who was in doubt for the match, received a second yellow card and left the guest with ten players, when in addition he will be absent from the return match at the home stadium of Dragao.
Inter needed just eight minutes to capitalize on the numerical advantage, with Lukaku first hitting the crossbar but the rebound being tapped into the net by Costa.
The stunned and frustrated Dragons were unable to recover, and in the home game they will have to complete a turnaround to get the ticket to the quarterfinals.
