The union supported Reinschreiber's decision to disallow Helder Lopes' goal in extra time against Maccabi Tel Aviv: "A Beer Sheva player (Tibi) who was in the standoff made contact with Saborit"

Summary: Maccabi Tel Aviv - Hapoel Beer Sheva 0:1 (Sport 1)

The match between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Be'er Sheva in the last round ended in a big storm following a dramatic goal that was disallowed for the guests in extra time.

Today (Wednesday), the referees' union published their conclusions from the last league games and stated: Helder Lopes' goal was rightly disallowed.

The union's reasoning states that "a Beer Sheva player (Tibi), who is in a different position, makes contact with the defensive player (Savorit) and thus affects his ability to intervene in the move. Therefore, the goal is disallowed for a different offense.

Was his goal rightly disqualified?

As you may remember, the referee of the game Roy Reinschreiber initially approved the goal and caused an outburst of emotions among the Beer Sheva fans who came to Bloomfield.

But after a signal from the VAR people, the goal was disallowed, which created a huge uproar in the last minutes and after the game, when Beer Sheva was also fined NIS 5,000 by the manager following the obscene movement made by Guy Primor towards the Maccabi Tel Aviv fans.

* According to the referees union, Maccabi Haifa lost during the 0:0 home draw against Maccabi Bnei Rayna about three weeks ago.

In the 80th minute, Greens striker Franzi Piero was fouled in the box and referee Yigal Fried whistled for a penalty.

The ruling was overturned by the VAR because Piero was offside, however according to the Referees Association the original decision should have been upheld as they claimed Piero was not involved in the move when the ball was lifted into the box.
