A physical altercation broke out during PSV Eindhoven's game against Sevilla FC.

A spectator stormed onto the pitch and punched the Spanish team's goalkeeper in the face.

Goalkeeper Marko Dmitrović continued to play and was apparently unhurt.

The incident happened towards the end of the Europa League game at the PSV stadium in Eindhoven.

According to consistent reports, it should be a PSV trailer.

After the goal, Dmitrović overpowered the fan, who was quickly surrounded by players from both teams and led away to the boos of numerous stadium visitors.

Dmitrović later said: »I have never hit myself in my life.

But I know that I can defend myself.«

The scene was reminiscent of a Premier League scandal a few weeks ago.

Arsenal keeper Aaron Ramsdale was attacked by a spectator during the game against Tottenham in mid-January.

The spectator kicked the 24-year-old Arsenal keeper in the back as he went for a bottle from behind goal.

The Serbia goalkeeper was called into the Sevilla starting line-up late after Yassine Bounou called in sick before the game.

PSV won the second leg 2-0, but lost 3-2 overall (first leg 0-3) and are now probably expecting a penalty from Uefa for the spectator's action.

Former Sevilla player Luuk de Jong scored for PSV in the 77th minute and Fabio Silva made it 2-0 in added time.
