Final sprint in the Bayernliga championship round.

Erding – Tonight is the last day of the game.

In Group B, the Erding Gladiators have to play at ERSC Amberg at 8 p.m., and team boss Felix Schütz's team can still do from first to third place.

The first and second place winners have home advantage in the playoff quarter-finals, i.e. also in a third game that may be necessary, because it is initially played in best-of-three format.

The Gladiators lead the table with 10 points, followed by Amberg and Schongau with 7 points each.

In the event of a tie, the goal difference counts.

This means that the Erdinger (27:21) could even afford a narrow defeat in Amberg (22:21) and would still stay ahead of the Wild Lions.

A laughing third could be Schongauer, who have the same number of points and goals as Amberg and who meet VfE Ulm/Neu-Ulm on their own ice, who are one point behind.

So there is plenty of excitement at the end of the championship round.

But Schütz doesn't want to deal with any arithmetic games.

"We're going to Amberg to win," he announces confidently.

"We must and will concentrate on ourselves." The Gladiators played against Amberg only two weeks ago and won 6:3 goals in an exciting game that was close until the end.

Schütz and coach Ales Jirik can rely on the tried and tested squad against the exceptionally strong defensive Ambergers, only Basti Cramer and Rudi Lorenz are injured.

While Cramer will probably play, Lorenz, who injured his elbow, should take a break as a precaution.

"But he'll be back in the playoffs next week," says Erding's team boss.

Just like last time against Ulm, Christoph Schedlbauer will be in goal.

When asked about a preferred opponent for the playoff quarterfinals, Schütz shook his head, slightly annoyed.

"Basically, I don't have a dream opponent, and besides, we have to play in Amberg first and concentrate on that." But in principle, his team is in good shape.

"We're number one and we're strong enough to beat anyone.

And if you want to get to the final, and that's where we want to go, you have to beat everyone."

Proud partnership with VR-Bank: Crowdfunding campaign brings in over 20,000 euros - and Ulm's trainer adds another twenty

There was a lot of applause when the check was handed over on the ice before the Erding Gladiators game against Ulm.

21,141 euros were raised in the crowdfunding campaign of the Eishockey-Förderverein Erding - later another 20 euros came from the Ulm side.

Even before the campaign, the VR-Bank Erding eG had supported the TSV youngsters with a donation of 4,900 euros from profit savings.

At least another 15,000 euros should be collected via the crowdfunding platform "Many create more" of the VR-Bank, according to the plan of the association around the chairman Christian Fragner.

The money was to be used to buy 350 new, uniform jerseys for the seven youth teams and also to organize the "Young Gladiators Trophy" tournament.

The goal was clearly exceeded.

Within the 90 project days, the association achieved the sum of 21,141 euros.

A total of 129 supporters paid EUR 18,141 into the project account.

On top of that, the association received another 3,000 euros as co-funding from the VR-Bank.

The symbolic check for the total amount was presented by Josef Kern,

"We are all very happy that we have reached such a large amount," said Fragner.

Kern was also very happy about the success and advertised: "We make the crowdfunding platform of the VR-Bank Erding available to non-profit associations and institutions free of charge.

As a result, 26 projects have already received more than 311,100 euros in support payments since 2016.

So far we have been able to hand over almost 49,000 euros in co-funding to the institutions for all these projects.” He promised that the VR-Bank would continue to support the TSV youngsters.

In the press conference after the Gladiators game, Ulm's trainer Martin Jainz found out that the project had also raised 400 euros from a T-shirt sale – each price was 20 euros.

Without further ado, he donated 20 euros, but did without the T-shirt.

"I don't know if it's available in my size," he said, laughing.

This brought the crowdfunding sum to 21,161 euros.
