Aston Martin has now published an update on Twitter.

There is no new information about Lance Stroll, but the team is doing everything possible to let him race at the weekend if his injuries allow it.

The team decided on the reserve driver Felipe Drugovich - he had already completed the test drives for the 2023 season.

Original article from February 26, 2023:

The test drives are just over, the first Formula 1 race of the season takes place on Sunday (05.03) and there is already wild speculation that we could see Sebastian Vettel in the Formula 1 car .

The reason for this is an injured Lance Stroll.

He was already unable to complete the test rides because he injured his wrists in a bicycle accident.

There is even talk on social media that he is said to have broken both his wrists - so the Aston Martin driver would definitely be out for more than two weeks.

Name: Sebastian Vettel

Born: July 3, 1987 in Heppenheim

Nationality German

Racing team: Aston Martin F1 Team (until 2022)

greatest success: Formula 1 world champion with Red Bull (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013)

Sebastian Vettel announced the end of his career in 2022 with an Instagram video.

He wants to focus more on his family and devote himself to environmental protection.

A comeback that quick doesn't really fit in there.

For the fans, however, the greatest thing would be to see Vettel back in the racing car.

This is also due to the fact that he can complete the 300 Formula 1 races, because so far he has “only” 299 on his CV.

"It's Plan A to have Lance back in the car.

We'll talk about plan B next week." When asked about Vettel, he says: "I had a few phone calls with Sebastian, but that was the case last year and will continue like that."

Krack didn't comment on whether Vettel had offered himself, "we haven't made a final decision." Nevertheless, he made it clear to everyone that Sebastian had a plan and that you had to respect it.

After all, the four-time world champion is said to be traveling with his family and Aston Martin has two reserve drivers who can be used by the team - Felipe Drugovich was also allowed to complete the test drives alongside Fernando Alonso.

The racing team would like to announce more details in the week starting February 27th.
