2023 got off to a great start for Katharina Althaus: The ski jumper won three gold medals at the World Championships.
The year should also be a very special one privately.
Planica - black-red-GOLD!
Germany is currently doing well at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Planica, Slovenia.
The main reason for this are the successes in ski jumping.
And there is an athlete for whom February is phenomenal: Katharina Althaus.

Katharina Althaus wins three gold medals at the Ski Jumping World Championships in Planica
The 26-year-old from Oberstdorf was first world champion in the individual before she also sailed to first place in the team and also in the mixed competition.
Three times gold for Catherine the Great!
The hat trick of our 155 centimeter little ski jumping giant, who is now a total of seven times world champion, is by no means the only reason for celebration in the Althaus family.
Katharina Althaus: Her fiancé is the brother of combined athlete Julian Schmid
Her fiancé Patrick Schmid is the brother of a certain Julian Schmid - and he has already won two medals in Planica!
Julian Schmid is a Nordic combined athlete and celebrated second place in both the individual and mixed competitions.
Three golds, two silvers – Patrick Schmid can be very proud of that!
The rain of medals suits the year 2023. The next very special day for the Althaus and Schmid families is in April: Katharina and Patrick want to get married.

Katharina Althaus loves the brother of the German World Cup hero: the wedding is already planned
The couple has been together since June 2015, and the next step for the ski jumping heroine and the paramedic should follow in the spring.
Althaus shows up on Instagram at irregular intervals with her boyfriend, the two of them are often – how could it be otherwise – sporty on the go.
But there are still a few important competitions to come before the wedding bells ring: At the Nordic World Ski Championships, precious metals are up for grabs in ski jumping, Nordic combined and cross-country skiing until March 6th.
Katharina Althaus still challenged in the Ski Jumping World Cup until the end of March
After the World Championships in Slovenia, Althaus is going to Scandinavia: The final World Cup stations are Oslo, Lillehammer, Vikersund and Lahti.
The season ends on March 24th - for Althaus and Schmid it is also the starting signal for another, exciting chapter.
