After two home defeats, the VSG Isar-Loisach volleyball team is still in danger of relegation
Geretsried – The VSG Isar-Loisach volleyball team was overjoyed after last year's promotion to the district league east.
But the bad news started to pile up from the start of the season, because the three most important attackers, Veronika Adamek, Veronika Graf and Johanna Hofmann, were out for a long time.
In the meantime, Dominik Hölzl's team has slipped into the relegation zone of the table and did not manage to score the urgently needed points against MTV Rosenheim II (1:3) and TSV Eiselfing II (0:3) on the most recent home game.
"I don't look at the table," says the coach.
"If we get our points, it's secondary."
Focused at crunch time
Against Rosenheim, the hosts only got going slowly and were almost constantly behind in the first set.
Only at 20:20 was there a tie, after which VSG used the element of surprise to win 25:22.
"For the first time this season, we performed in a fully concentrated manner, appropriate to the crunch time," says Hölzl happily.
The second round, on the other hand, was desolate: His volleyball players did not get their acceptance regulated, were in the meantime hopelessly behind at 3:12 and lost at 11:25.
"Then there was a complete lack of belief in success," says the coach.
In the third period, the team around the strong Libera Hannah Sperl was level again and was even in the front for a while.
Towards the end, Rosenheim pulled away and won 25:21.
It was also tight in the fourth set.
If there is a deficit of 17:
20 Hölzl tried to turn the tide with double substitutions, but in the end there was a 21:25 loss.
"I'm happy with my team's performance, because it's a really difficult match day," emphasizes the coach, who also helped new signing Miriam Hildebrandt to make a few appearances.
Eiselfing compact and consistent
The third place in the table from Eiselfing presented itself a bit stronger.
The guests from the district of Rosenheim appeared compact and consistently went through with their moves.
"You just have a hard time against such a stable opponent," admits Hölzl.
The Eiselfingerinnen also had an outstanding point collector in their ranks with a tall diagonal attacker.
However, the VSG fought bravely, but lost in the first set at 13:25.
The second section, which Eiselfing won with 25:15, was similarly clear.
In the third round, the hostesses kept up well until the 6:6, then the favorite played through and won 25:17.
"Eiselfing didn't allow himself any mistakes over the entire duration," states the VSG trainer.
Only one game day left for VSG
His team only has one game left in their diary on March 18th.
Then you compete in Rosenheim against the hosts and tail light SV Schwarz-Weiss Munich III.
If the VSG gets six points, it could still conquer the relegation place that the TV Turnerbund München IV is currently occupying.
However, the Munich women still have four chances to score points.
