The Israeli team in apparatus gymnastics continues to do well in the World Cup in Qatar, after tonight (Thursday) Andriy Medvedev advanced to the vault finals and Alex Miakinin in tension.
The 32-year-old Medvedev, a bronze medalist from the World Championships two years ago, accumulated an average score of 14.433 points on the vault table, earning him fourth place overall in the qualifiers.
The best score was achieved by Carlos Yolo of the Philippines, the world champion from 2019, with an average of 14.8 points.
Myakinin, bronze medalist from the 2020 European Championships, advanced to the finals in the tension device, also from fourth place, after receiving a score of 13.933 points.
Tomorrow (Friday), the Olympic champion in apparatus gymnastics, Artyom Dolgupiat, will participate in the final of the floor exercise, to which he rose from first place and will try to get a second gold in a row in the World Cup round, after only less than a week ago he did it in Germany.
By the way, if Dolgofiat does manage to win the gold, he will also become the first Israeli to play the national anthem on Qatar's soil, with which Israel has no diplomatic relations.
