Sweden's Ebba Andersson won the 30 km classic style at the Cross-Country World Championships in Slovenia this Saturday.

Sweden's Ebba Andersson flew over the 30 km classic style of the 2023 World Cross-Country Skiing Championships on Saturday in Planica (Slovenia), from where she will leave with four medals including two gold after her success in skiathlon.

Andersson, 25, took off quickly in this last women's event of the Worlds to overtake after 1 h 22 min 18 sec of effort the Norwegian Anna Kjersti Kalvaa, 2nd at 53 sec, and another Swede Frida Karlsson, 3rd at 54 2/10 sec.

Andersson, who won four World Cup races this winter, was crowned skiathlon world champion (7.5 km classic style + 7.5 km freestyle) on February 25 and finished 3rd in the 10 km and relay 4x5km.

She now has three titles for a total of eight medals in the World Championships, in addition to her two medals at the Olympic Games, each time in the relay (2nd in 2018 and 3rd in 2022).

Sweden won three of the four women's individual events at these Worlds, as well as the team sprint, and totaled 11 medals, but its third place in the 4x5 km relay won by Norway on Thursday went very badly in the country.

The Worlds-2023 end on Sunday with the men's 50 km, of which Norway will be the big favorite.

The Norwegians won all the men's events on the program, including triplets in skiathlon and 15 km freestyle.
