Earlier, Union Berlin lost precious points with a 0:0 home draw against Cologne, and Moens Davor's Hoffenheim, who entered as a substitute in the 59th minute, lost 1:0 to Mainz.
Stuttgart - Bayern Munich 2:1
Less than 24 hours after Dortmund went top, the Bavarians did the job and returned to first place.
Matthijs de Licht (39) and Eric Maxim Choupo-Motting (62) scored, before Juan Jose Pera scored in the 88th minute.
Bayern broke the tie after two consecutive 2:2 results against the Swabians and has 13 consecutive away wins in Stuttgart in all formats.

Union Berlin - FC Cologne 0:0
After the defeat to the leader of the table in the previous round, the team from the capital of Germany lost more points and is already counting three consecutive rounds of victory.
The host had more of the ball, but Cologne was more dangerous and missed.
Union kept a clean sheet for the third game in a row against the guest.

Mainz - Hoffenheim 0:1
Fifth league loss in a row to Hoffenheim and in the last 12 games it has collected two points from a possible 36.
Andrew Barreiro scored the only goal of the game in the 33rd minute and Mons Davor's team is in real danger of relegation.
The Israeli striker entered instead of Kasper Dolberg in the 59th minute.
