Israel's record holder, Luna Chamtai-Salpeter finished this morning (Sunday) in second place in the Rome Half Marathon, after crossing the finish line after 1:06:56 hours.
As you may remember, Chemtai-Salpeter already managed to achieve the criteria for the Paris 2024 Olympics, when only ten days ago, she tried to break the world record for 10 kilometers on the road, as part of the Tel Aviv Marathon, but without success, with her next main goal being the Boston Marathon to be held in April .
The big event of the year - the World Championships in Athletics - will take place in the middle of August, and there the Israeli marathon runner will try to advance on the podium, after last year she won the bronze medal in running in the United States.
Her coach, Dan Salpeter: "As part of the preparations for the Boston Marathon that will be held in mid-April, Luna competed today in the Rome-Ostia Half Marathon. The course in Rome, which has changed slightly since Luna won it in 2019, is characterized by a route that is very reminiscent of the course in Boston and was a good preparation for the World Championship. Luna set 66:56 minutes, the third best result in her career, even though the course is not known for record purposes.
