Eran Zahavi is not returning to the Israeli national team.
The striker announced today (Monday) on his Instagram account that he had a conversation with the leaders of the national team regarding the possibility of him returning to the national uniform, months after he was removed from the squad due to his refusal to share a room with another player, in accordance with the regulations that professional manager Yossi Benyon put into effect.
Zahavi claimed that he offered a compromise in order to pave his way back to the national team.
"I agreed to the demand to share a part with another player in every gathering of the national teams, when my only request was to sleep alone the night before the game, with the aim of preparing as I have been doing for many years in the professionalism that I have become accustomed to and this is for my benefit and the benefit of the national team. Unfortunately, I was once again given a jarring negative," wrote Zehavi.

Zahavi said goodbye to the national team, maybe this time for good.
"I wish the team and my friends there the best of luck. I'm sorry that I was pushed out of a team that was everything to me for so many years. I will miss the anthem that plays and the wonderful crowd that got excited with me with every goal I scored. A huge thank you for the privilege to get excited and move you."
