At the end of the European Athletics Championships in Istanbul, a fall by the Spanish hurdler Enrique Llopis caused concern.
The 22-year-old fell over 60 meters hurdles in the final and then lay motionless on the floor.
When the doctors treated him, they tried to protect the Spaniard from being looked at with large cloths.
After the treatment, Llopis was taken out of the hall on a stretcher.
Spanish media reported shortly after the accident that Llopis was conscious and in a hospital.
While still on the stretcher, Llopis had signaled the all-clear with a thumbs-up.
He later tweeted a video message from his hospital bed.
"All tests went well, now I have to recover from the shock," he says in it.
Jason Joseph from Switzerland won the European Championship title in this race.
He was the fastest European over 60 meters before the European Indoor Championships, became U-20 European Champion over 110 meters hurdles in 2017 and also won this title at U-23 level in 2019.
Jakub Szymnaski (POL) and Just Kwaou-Mathey (FRA) completed the podium in second and third place.
