FCB honorary president Uli Hoeneß considers a commitment from star striker Harry Kane to be completely absurd.
Hoeneß, on the other hand, is full of praise for the former backup Choupo-Moting.
Munich - 344 goals in 375 games - a center forward with such values can confidently be described as "world class".
With a rate of 0.92 goals per competitive game, Robert Lewandowski was indispensable for FC Bayern Munich.
When the Polish striker's time at Säbener Straße ended after eight years last summer, fans and experts called for a strong new man to take the center forward position.
Head coach Julian Nagelsmann initially tried to compensate for Lewandowski's departure with the striker duo Gnabry-Mané.
When that no longer worked, Nagelsmann surprisingly relied on Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting - with success.

Born: March 23, 1989 (Age: 33 years old), Hamburg
Contract with FC Bayern Munich until: 06/30/2024
Market value: 6 million
Hoeneß on Kane: "Do you think it's cheaper this year?"
Since then, Choupo-Moting has been an integral part of the Bayern starting eleven.
In 25 competitive games this season he has scored 16 goals and prepared four more.
The only problem: "Choupo" will be 34 at the end of March and is therefore not a man for the future.
However, there is still Harry Kane.
The English national striker should still be Bayern's dream solution in the center forward position.
The 29-year-old is under contract with Tottenham Hotspur until the summer of 2024.
Should FC Bayern want to sign Harry Kane this summer, the club would have to spend a lot of money.
Club legend Uli Hoeneß also believes so.
For the honorary president of the German soccer record champions, a commitment from Kane by FC Bayern Munich is a crazy idea.
"I think the transfer is completely gaga," said Hoeneß as a guest speaker at an event of the "Abendzeitung" in Munich.
Kane is a "great player", but: "Last year Tottenham rejected 160 million euros (transfer) from Manchester City.
Do you think it's cheaper this year?"

Hoeneß praises Choupo-Moting - "totally surprised" by the development
In Munich there is always speculation about a world-class center forward as the successor to the goalscorer Lewandowski, who has switched to FC Barcelona.
Hoeneß also noted that taking money into the position in the summer could be a consideration.
“Basically, I think our squad is the best in the world.
The only question mark before the season was number 9," said the 71-year-old.
After Lewandowski's departure, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has become Bayern's number one centre-forward over the course of this season.
Hoeneß did not expect that, according to his own statements: "I was totally surprised by the increase in performance from Choupo-Moting," admitted Hoeneß.
He thinks this is “a really good centre-forward”.
The recent extension of the contract with Choupo-Moting by one year was a "totally correct decision" by the Bayern board.
"We played it safe there.
If you hadn't done that, we would have had a centre-forward discussion in the next three months."

Bayern is planning an alternative with Duo Choupo-Moting/Tel
And then there is also Mathys Tel. Last summer, the German record champions transferred around 20 million euros to the French first division club Stade Rennes for the 17-year-old Sturm-Juwel.
Tel under Nagelsmann has often not had a chance so far.
However, when Nagelsmann brought him on, the young striker impressed above all with his technique and goal threat.
Tel has already scored five competitive goals in Bayern dress – despite his short playing time.
If a possible transfer from Harry Kane should fail, according to Sport Bild
, those responsible for Bayern want
to rely on the experienced Choupo-Moting and the youngster Mathys Tel.
Because of Choupo-Moting's contract extension until 2024, Bayern can still take some time with the transfer of a new striker.
