The World Gymnastics Federation announced yesterday (Monday) a severe and harsh punishment against Irina Viner (formerly Usmanova), the president of the Russian Gymnastics Federation and one of the most famous and powerful women in the industry, and announced that she has been suspended for two years.

"The legendary boss of Russian gymnastics is suspended for the disgrace in Tokyo," read the headline on the Russian "Sport24" website.

As you may remember, Wiener strongly attacked the International Gymnastics Federation (GIF), following the judges' decision to award the gold medal to Linui Ashram at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

She claimed that the decision was wrong and that there were irregularities in the world association and among the judges.

Two years later, she paid the price and was accused of violating the regulations with the harsh criticism and blatant insinuations.

Wiener is the strongest woman in the sport in Russia, the country that has dominated artistic gymnastics for decades.

She was previously married to the famous oligarch Alisher Osmanov, who owned Arsenal.

She is known to be an ardent Putin supporter,

Viner Osmanova was the coach of the Avrina sisters in Tokyo, and among other things, she responded to the words of Ayelet Sussman who claimed that "everyone who was on the podium deserved to be there".

In an interview with the media in Russia, Osmanova said at the time: "We are not used to losing and they (Israel) have been losing for five years. This girl (Ashram) has not won a gold medal until now. Neither in the Grand Prix nor in the world championships. Only in Israel did she win gold at the European Championships in 2020 because the Abrina sisters did not appear."

Osmanova continued to compare Ashram and Abrina: "In no competition until now has Ashram been ahead of the Abrina sisters. Neither in the world championships nor in the Olympics, she has never done that. This is the first proof that Osmanova is not telling the truth. I agree with her that the three gymnasts who were on the podium were They should be there, but in a different order. Dina (Abrina), Linoy and Hernescu. Even I think Hernescu should have finished second and Ashram third."

"The whole world understands that with such a mistake as Ashram made, it is impossible to be an Olympic champion. Everyone understands this, except for Russia's political enemies. There were many who said that Russia is tired of winning, but no gymnast can match the Russian gymnasts."

She also said after the Olympics that she had evidence of irregularities: "We are not stupid. We know one hundred percent that we are right. We also confirmed this with the help of independent judges of the highest level, who also judged all the competitions that were in the Olympics. We have evidence that there were huge violations in the Olympic Games.

"It's not only what happened to Dina, but also many erroneous decisions that were not analyzed according to the rules and laws.

Everyone saw it on TV."
