The state league judoka of the SG Moosburg lost 8:12 against the Isarfighter.

A lot came together in the second round.

Moosburg

– The judo state league team of SG Moosburg suffered a 8:12 home defeat against the “Isarfighter TuS Holzkirchen” team.

SGM trainer Joe Sanders was nevertheless satisfied with the performance of his protégés: "Losing at home is not nice.

But for us it was a first assessment of where we stand - and we saw that we could survive in the league with our potential.

If the squad trains well and some of those who were absent today come back, then I think it doesn't look too bad for us."

Already at the weigh-in it became clear that the opponent, a fighting community of TV Lenggries, TuS Holzkirchen and TSV Großhadern, would be numerically superior.

The Isarfighters were allowed to weigh 30 men.

In terms of quality, however, the difference on the mat was not visible.

SG Moosburg goes into the break with a draw

The Moosburgers balanced the first round.

Up to 66 kilos, Jörg Gehrer twice let his opponent Kevin Malik participate in his favorite throwing technique Tani-otoshi and won, as did his teammate Madalin Bragaru, who retained the upper hand despite an injury.

Sergej Lenz also scored a point in the class over 90 kilos in an inimitable manner.

Martin Folger defeated his opponent in the weight class up to 90 kilos, and Georg Hobmaier (up to 73 kilos) received an Ippon rating for his throwing technique (Seoi-nage).

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

In addition to the five points for the SGM fighters, Wolfgang Mayerhofer (up to 73 kilos) also looked good in his first fight against Nicolas Bittmann, but was then countered.

It was similar for Constantin Gherganu (up to 81 kilos) against Martin Rabe.

Sanders: "We broke down a bit after the first lap."

After the tie at the break, the hosts from the City of Three Roses could not improve in the second half: Bragaru (up to 66 kilos) and Gherganu (up to 81 kilos) won their second fight.

Wolfgang Mayerhofer (up to 73 kilos) really gave it his all and put his Holzkirchen opponent Kilian Huber down on the mat after 17 seconds with a foot technique (O-uchi-gari).

But it wasn't enough for more than these three points in the ten duels of the second round.

The Isarfighters won some fights too easily, such as Michl Prängler's against Sergej Lenz, because the Moosburgers let themselves be surprised.

They also benefited from an injury from Christoph Emmer (up to 73 kilos), who had been fighting well until then.

Georg Hobmaier, who was used a class higher (up to 81 kilos),

"We looked good at 5:5 in the first round, but then we slumped a bit," Sanders summed up.

"There were a few things that didn't play into our hands.

In the end, Holzkirchen deservedly won 12:8.”
